Custom bandsaw blades, welded to any length
There is no standard bandsaw blade length: every machine takes its own loop. Enter yours and price any blade in the catalogue at the exact length your machine runs.
How welding to length works
Five steps between the coil on our racking and the blade on your machine. The same process, whether the loop is for a benchtop saw or a sawmill band.
Cut
Your blade starts as coil stock of the width, gauge and tooth pitch you chose. We measure your stated loop length along the band and cut it from the coil.

Weld
The two ends are joined in a resistance butt welder, fusing them into a continuous loop. The joint becomes part of the band, not a patch on it.

Anneal
Welding leaves the joint harder and more brittle than the parent steel. A controlled annealing cycle softens it back so the band flexes evenly around your wheels.

Grind
The weld is ground flush on both faces and along the back edge, so the joint runs through guides and over wheels exactly like the rest of the band.

Inspect
The finished loop is checked over: joint alignment, tooth line and the length you ordered. Only then is it coiled, boxed and despatched.

The weld runs like parent band
Annealed and ground, a good weld is not a weak point you tolerate: it flexes with the band and passes through the guides without a click. If a blade fails at the weld early in its life, we want to know about it.

How to measure a bandsaw blade
Blade length is the full distance around the welded loop. Three honest ways to get it, in order of preference.
Check the machine
The blade length is on the machine's specification plate or in its manual, usually in millimetres. This is the most reliable source and takes seconds to check.
Measure an existing band
Mark a point on the back of an old blade, then roll it along a bench or floor beside a tape until the mark comes round again. The distance travelled is the loop length.
