Terms and conditions

The terms that govern every order placed on thebandsawstore.co.uk, written to match how the store actually works: blades welded to order, accessories from stock.

Draft

This document is a draft placeholder template. The client's solicitor approves the final wording before go-live; until then nothing on this page is a binding policy or legal advice.

1. Who we are

In these terms, we, us and our mean The Bandsaw Store, trading as The Bandsaw Store, company number 01716510, VAT number GB355975213, of Unit 2, 19 Willis Way, Poole, Dorset, BH15 3SS.

You means the person or business placing an order. Questions about these terms go to sales@thebandsawstore.co.uk.

2. Ordering and acceptance

Placing an order on this site is an offer to buy. We accept a stocked item when we confirm dispatch, and a custom welded blade when production begins. Until acceptance we may decline an order, for example where a price or specification was published in error, and anything already paid is refunded in full.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you enter, above all the blade length. Our custom lengths page explains how to measure a band correctly, and we would always rather answer a question before an order than after one.

3. Custom welded blades are made to order

Every blade is cut from coil and welded to the loop length you state, which makes it a product made to your specification. Once production has started, a custom welded blade is excluded from change-of-mind cancellation, consistent with the exemption for made-to-measure goods under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Before production starts you can cancel free of charge. This mirrors our returns and refunds policy.

Order typeChange-of-mind cancellationFaulty or not as described
Stocked accessories and tools30 days from delivery, unused and in original packagingCovered by your statutory rights
Custom welded blade, production not startedCancel free of chargeCovered by your statutory rights
Custom welded blade, production startedExcluded, made to your stated lengthCovered by your statutory rights

4. Pricing and VAT

Prices are in pounds sterling. VAT is itemised at the prevailing UK rate before you pay, on the quote panel and at checkout alike. Where a price is obviously wrong, for example through a typing or import error, we will contact you with the correct price before production or dispatch and you may cancel at no cost.

5. Delivery

We deliver by tracked courier; services, costs and cut-off times are set out on the delivery page. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full.

6. Returns and refunds

Stocked items may be returned within 30 days of delivery, unused and in their original packaging, for a refund. Custom welded blades follow the table above. None of this affects your statutory rights: goods that are faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose are covered under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and a blade that fails at the weld early in its life is our problem, not yours. The process lives on the returns and refunds page.

7. Safe use and liability

Bandsaw blades are industrial cutting tools. You are responsible for selecting a blade suitable for your machine and material, for correct installation, tensioning and guarding and for following the machine manufacturer's instructions. Technical data we publish comes from the blade manufacturers' published ranges.

Placeholder position for the solicitor: nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Subject to that, our liability for any order is limited to the price paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost production time.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you buy as a consumer, you keep any additional statutory rights the law gives you.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published at the time you order is the one that applies to that order.
